Polyester or nylon for a backpack?

Polyester for school, promotional, travel and most business bags: cheaper, prints better, more UV-stable. Nylon when weight and tear strength matter more than cost: hiking, tactical, premium outdoor. A 420D nylon typically out-tears a 600D polyester at lower weight.

Which coating should I specify - PU, PVC or TPU?

PU is the standard shower-proof back-coating and stays flexible in cold. PVC is the cheapest fully waterproof option but stiffens below 0 C and is restricted by many EU retailers. TPU is waterproof, weldable, PVC-free and flexible to -20 C, at 2.5-4x the cost of PU.

What is oxford fabric and how does it differ from plain polyester?

Oxford is polyester woven in a 2x2 basket pattern, giving a soft sheen and the classic school-bag look. Plain 1x1 polyester is flatter and slightly more abrasion-resistant at the same denier. Price is the same; the choice is aesthetic.

Do you stock ripstop?

Yes - 70D, 210D and 420D ripstop nylon (silicone or PU coated) and 210D ripstop RPET. Ripstop grids arrest tears and are standard on ultralight and hiking bag bodies.

Is your RPET really recycled?

Yes when it carries a GRS transaction certificate tracing the yarn to certified recycled PET flake - which we supply with every RPET order and reconcile to roll lot numbers. Without the certificate, "RPET" is a marketing word.

What canvas weight for a tote bag?

10 oz for promotional giveaways, 12 oz for retail totes that stand up and carry groceries, 14-16 oz for heavy-duty or heritage bags. Always specify pre-washed for sewn goods to hold shrinkage under 3%.

PU leather or microfiber leather?

PU for fashion bags with a one- or two-season life and for trims; microfiber when the bag should last 3-5 years or needs real-leather hand. Microfiber costs 2-3x PU and half of cowhide.

Which lining fabric do you recommend?

210D PU-coated oxford or polyester in a light or brand colour: spills stay on the surface, contents are visible, and it costs half of 600D. Printed repeat-logo lining is available from 1,000 m.

Can you supply matching webbing, binding and zipper tape?

Yes. We dye webbing, binding and zipper tape against the same sealed Pantone standard as the body fabric and check them together in the D65 cabinet, so components match on the finished bag.

What is the minimum order for fabric?

Stock fabrics and colours: one roll (typically 50-100 m). Custom Pantone on a stock article: 1,000 m. Custom weave or coating: 3,000 m. Custom printed fabric: 500 m. PU leather and neoprene custom colour: 500 m.

How do I get swatches?

A free colour card and cut swatch set ships by courier with your first inquiry reply, usually within 2 working days. You pay only the courier. Swatches are cut from stock rolls, so what you feel is what ships.

Can you match my Pantone exactly?

Custom dyeing from 1,000 m per colour with a lab dip in 3 days. We work to Pantone TCX; TPX and physical swatches are accepted. Below 1,000 m we match to the nearest of 60+ stock colours and send the card so you choose with fabric in hand.

What is a lab dip and why is it sealed?

A lab dip is a small swatch dyed to your reference by the mill lab. Once you approve it, we seal it as the standard for bulk, for every roll check and for every re-order - so a re-order twelve months later matches the first.

Will the re-order match the first order?

Bulk is approved within shade band A/B against the sealed lab dip under D65. If a programme needs tighter control we hold one dye lot for the whole order and reserve fabric for the next.

Can I order sample yardage before bulk?

Yes - 5-50 m of any stock article at roll price plus cutting; for a custom colour, 20-50 m sample yardage is dyed alongside the lab dip approval at a surcharge that is credited against bulk.

Are samples identical to bulk production?

Swatches are cut from the same stock rolls that ship. Custom-colour sample yardage is dyed from the same recipe as bulk; shade is controlled to the same sealed standard.

How many stock colours do you hold?

60+ on 600D polyester, 20+ on 900D and 1680D, 40+ on 600D oxford, 10+ on 420D and 1000D nylon, 15 on PU leather, 12 on microfiber leather, 30+ on non-woven and felt, black plus 8-10 on air mesh and neoprene.

How long does a fabric order take?

Stock rolls ship in 3-5 days. Custom-dyed lots take 15-20 days after lab dip approval. Custom weaves or coatings 25-35 days. Add transit: express 3-5 days, air 5-7, sea 25-40.

Can you rush an order?

Stock articles can be dispatched in 24-48 hours for a handling surcharge. Dyed lots can be shortened to 10-12 days when the mill has capacity; we confirm before you commit.

What information do you need for a quote?

Bag type, quantity, target price, destination market and any colour reference. From that we propose two or three fabric builds with cost tiers within 12 hours. A spec sheet or a sample bag speeds it up.

Can I change quantity after ordering?

Stock orders can be adjusted until dispatch. Dyed lots can be increased before the dye bath is set (usually within 48 hours of confirmation); decreases after dyeing starts are not possible.

Do you provide a spec sheet with the fabric?

Yes. Every article ships with a spec sheet: fibre, denier, weave, gsm, coating type and weight, hydrostatic head, colour standard, fastness grades and the tests reported per roll.

Can you hold stock or reserve fabric for my programme?

Yes. For running programmes we reserve dyed fabric or hold greige for call-off, so re-orders skip the 15-20 day dye cycle. Terms depend on volume.

Yes. Custom colours, prints and constructions are covered by NDA and never offered to other buyers. Fabric developed for you is reserved to you.

How is each roll tested?

Every roll: weight (GSM), shade against the sealed lab dip in a D65 cabinet, dry and wet rubbing fastness, coating adhesion and defects per 100 m under the 4-point system. Pre-production samples: hydrostatic head, Martindale abrasion, tensile and tear.

Which certificates can you provide?

GRS for recycled polyester, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and REACH on request, third-party CPSIA and Prop 65 tests via SGS, BV or Intertek. The group factory is BSCI audited and ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 certified.

What fastness grades do you work to?

Rubbing fastness grade 4+ dry, 3-4+ wet (ISO 105-X12). Light-fastness grade 4 standard, grade 5+ for GCC and Australian programmes (ISO 105-B02). Perspiration fastness grade 4+ on mesh and lining (ISO 105-E04).

Can you test for my specific market?

Yes. EU: REACH screening, phthalate test on PVC, cold-flex at -10 C. US: CPSIA lead and phthalate, Prop 65. GCC: light-fastness, perspiration, 50 C conditioning. Tactical: NIR reflectance to tender spec.

Can I send my own inspector?

Yes. Third-party or customer inspection is welcome at the mill, at our warehouse in Baigou, or in the bag factory at any stage. We schedule around your inspector.

What happens if a roll fails?

It does not ship. Failed rolls are rejected back to the mill and replaced; the test record shows the rejection. If a defect is found after delivery, report within 14 days with photos and roll numbers and we replace or credit.

Do you ship test reports with the fabric?

Yes - the roll test record, spec sheet and any third-party reports or certificates travel with the shipping documents and are emailed on dispatch.

How is fabric priced?

Per metre at 58" / 150 cm width (per kg for non-woven and felt). Price depends on fibre, denier, coating, colour (stock vs custom) and quantity. We quote FOB Tianjin / Xingang or CIF / DDP to your port.

What payment terms do you accept?

T/T 30% deposit and 70% before shipment for dyed lots; stock rolls 100% before dispatch. L/C at sight for qualified orders. Running programmes can move to 30-day terms after three orders.

Are there volume discounts?

Yes. Price breaks at 1,000 m, 3,000 m and 10,000 m per article; programme pricing for annual commitments.

Which currencies do you invoice in?

USD by default; EUR and CNY on request. Bank charges: you cover your bank, we cover ours.

Do you provide proforma invoices and documents for L/C?

Yes - PI with HS codes, Incoterms and weights within one working day; commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin at shipment.

Is the fabric cheaper if I also have the bags made?

Often, yes. When the roll goes next door to the Senszx bag factory there is no second freight leg, no second incoming inspection and one deposit instead of two.

How are fabric rolls packed?

Each roll polybagged, labelled with article, colour, lot, shade and metres, then bundled in woven bags or palletised and stretch-wrapped. Cartons for sample yardage. Roll length 50-100 m, roll weight 25-45 kg depending on article.

Which shipping methods do you offer?

Sea LCL and FCL from Tianjin / Xingang to major ports (25-40 days), air freight (5-7 days) for urgent lots, express (DHL / FedEx / UPS, 3-5 days) for swatches and sample yardage, and rail to Europe on request.

Yes, to most countries in Europe, North America, the GCC and Australia. Duties and taxes are pre-calculated in the quote so there are no surprises at the destination.

How much fabric fits in a container?

Roughly 12,000-15,000 m of 600D polyester in a 20 GP and 25,000-30,000 m in a 40 HQ, depending on roll length and coating. We optimise roll length to the container.

Can you ship fabric to my bag factory in another country?

Yes. We regularly ship approved rolls to customer factories in Vietnam, Bangladesh, India, Turkey and Mexico with the same test reports and shade standard.

What if the shipment is damaged?

Report within 72 hours with photos of packaging and rolls. Insured shipments are claimed and replaced; we recommend insurance at 0.3-0.5% of value on sea freight.

Do you provide tracking?

Yes. B/L or AWB numbers and carrier tracking on dispatch; for DDP we monitor customs clearance and delivery to your door.

Are you a mill, a trader or a factory?

We are the fabric-sourcing and inspection arm of the Senszx bag group. We do not own looms; we specify, source and test fabric from audited mills, hold stock in Baigou, and supply it to our own sewing lines and to outside factories and brands.

Why buy fabric from a bag factory?

Because every specification on this site was learned on a cutting table. We know which coating cracks in winter, which dye fades in the Gulf and which lining shows dirt - and we test for those things because our own bags depend on it.

Do you sell fabric only, or finished bags too?

Both. Senszx Fabrics supplies rolls by the metre. If you need the bags made, our sister factory Senszx manufactures custom bags from 100 pieces with a free sample in 3-5 days.

Where are you located?

Baigou, Baoding, Hebei - the largest bag-making cluster in northern China, 90 minutes from Beijing and two hours from Tianjin port. Mills we source from are in Hebei, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Guangdong.

Yes. Visits to the warehouse, inspection lab and bag factory are welcome by appointment. We can also arrange mill visits for programme buyers.

Which markets do you supply?

North America and Europe make up about 60% of shipments, followed by the GCC, Asia Pacific, Latin America and Africa. Each market has its own compliance checklist that we build into the fabric spec.

D is denier - the weight in grams of 9,000 m of yarn. Higher denier is thicker, stiffer and more abrasion-resistant, but heavier and dearer. 600D polyester is the baseline for school and tote bags; step up to 900D or 1680D for premium and heavy-duty, down to 210D-300D for packable and promotional.
