Canvas sells the story synthetics cannot: natural fibre, a matte hand that softens with use and a print surface that makes a one-colour logo look premium. It is the default for retail tote programmes, gift bags and heritage-style backpacks.
Senszx Fabrics supplies 8 oz to 16 oz cotton duck canvas, pre-washed to control shrinkage, plus waxed, organic and cotton-linen variants. Rolls are checked for shade, weight and shrinkage before they reach the cutting room.

Watch out
- Shrinks 3-8% if not pre-washed - always specify pre-washed for sewn goods
- Absorbs water and stains unless waxed or PU-backed
- Heavier than polyester for equal strength; raises freight cost
- Natural shade varies between cotton lots; approve a shade band, not a single swatch
Coatings and finishes for canvas
The back-coating or finish decides water resistance, cold-weather behaviour and, often, whether the bag passes EU retail requirements. Cost is relative to the uncoated base fabric.
